“This distant dream formed more than 7 years ago, a deeply held desire to travel back to my Motherland. To live in Sri Lanka for the first time, learn my mother tongue, connect with my culture and seek traditional creative knowledge. I was stuck in a post-colonial feedback loop and I needed to break out. I wound up my Australian life, completing ‘Larry’s Last Loop’ hitchhiking tour around Australia over 8 months last year. Performing at festivals and other events in around Australia and finally in Darwin where I would search for north bound sailing boats.”
